A LIVING FAITH, 2022

Picture
Throughout 2020-21 we embarked on a grand journey called Cover to Cover (C2C). Through it we read the entire Bible, studying the Old Testament (2020) and New Testament (2021) in our Life Groups and Sermons. Building upon this Biblical literacy we now turn to an exciting new adventure.

Throughout 2022 our focus will be "a living Faith."  Drawing from 1 Timothy 3:15b we'll consider the relationship between orthodoxy and orthopraxy, faith and practice, belief and behaviour. The Church is founded upon sound doctrine ("the pillar and buttress"); this enables vibrant spiritual life to grow. However, if such truth remains merely conceptual (of the head) then it is of little good; it must become experiential (of the heart). When it does the truth becomes the foundation of something living and beautiful. Hence a living Faith. This is depicted in our theme banner, the stone wall for the truth and the greenery for the life it sustains. When truth is lived out then the living organism, which is the Church, bring glory to Christ her head for all the world to see.

In the evenings we're going to be embarking upon a journey through our Statement of Faith. Why We Believe What We Believe will explore key doctrines that we hold dear and explore why they matter.

In the mornings, built around the Great Commandment, we're going to consider some practical elements of what it means to live the Christian life. Areas of focus will include everything from idolatry, discipleship and the inner life, to relationships, family, care for the poor and evangelism.
*A thematic daily reading program that will shadow the sermons will also be made available.  (Also available via the newsletter and on hardcopy in the church foyer.)
